DLT IV tapes

I have a tl891 with a single dlt 35/70 drive. I ordered additional DLT IV tapes for it, and they were labeled "20/40,35/70,40/80". When I tries to use the tapes, they seem to work for a while, then I get write errors. I guess my question is: Are the 40/80 dlt tape usable in my 35/70 drive ?

The 40/80gb DLT tapes can be used in your DLT7000 35/70GB drive. The DLTIV tapes can be used in DLT4000,7000,8000, and DLT1 drives
