DLT RAID : at Slot or Drive level (with HP MSL5026)

Hello,
By using ArcServe or Veritas with a MSL526 and using the RAID option, it seems that if I choose to create a RAID1:Raid device, all my slot form only ONE logical drive (raid is done by using my 2 tape drive located in the MSL). There is no way to create (by example) a RAID1 with Slot1/26 and 2/26 etc with other slot. This because I want to send the redundant tape to an external location.
