Re: DLT VS160 multiple listing in device manager

I have a user with a tape stuck in a DLT VS 160 with about 8 instances of it in device manager. Were you ever able to resolve this? Thanks.

Re: DLT VS160 multiple listing in device manager

Hi there,

I have also the same problem at a customer of mine. DLT VS160 drive shows up 8 times in Device manager, and per device 5 times in RSM. SCSI ID's didn't change and are the same as provided in this thread.

How can we fix this?

Thanks

Have you made sure you have the latest firmware instaled?

Yes, I have downloaded the latest firmware for the tape drive, have installed the latest Proliant Support Pack, rebooted my server but the same error is in place. 8 DLT drives all the same.

Hope there's a solution.

Re: DLT VS160 multiple listing in device manager

Probably you may try changing the sCSI ID back to the default ID of 6 and reboot. Ensure the DLT drivers are the correct version. If backup application is ntbackup or Data protector then install the HP drivers using the HP Tape driver installer. (ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/tape/SmartComp/HPStorageWorksTapeDrivers.zip).
Check for any updates for SCSI HBA BIOS and drivers.
