DLT VS4 - when?

Can anyone indicate when the DLT VS4 tape drive is likely to be supported
under HP-UX.
Presently this 160GB (native) format
is not listed in any support matrices.

Becasue an DLT VS160 tape drive is compatible with HP-UX

VS4 is the successor low-cost DLT technology to VS160.
It uses the same "VS1" type of cartridge
and is backwards read compatible.
I think the actual VS4 tape mechanism is made
by Quantum.

I remember something being mentioned on this.

I am not sure of the HP production path for a VS4 technology. As far as I am aware Quantum is the only manufacturer marketing this technology ?!?!

Seeing as LTO drives have a very lengthy production path and are now branching into different interfaces... I woudn't be surprised if VS4 was not offered by HP.

are, or shortly will be, evaluating VS4.
