DLT VS80

Is the DLT VS80 external tape drive compatible with the Alphaserver 1200? If so,
what does the customer need to connect the drive to the system(cable,controller,s/w driver, and min firmware.

Re: DLT VS80

The list of officially supported alpha servers is here:
http://www.hp.com/products1/storage/compatibility/tapebackup/alpha/index.html

The 1200 isn't included. However, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work. The 1200 has an embedded ultra SCSI interface which would be compatible, or you could add a supported PCI SCSI card.

From the quickspecs:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/SOC/QB009NMW.DOC

It includes:
KZPBA-CA = PCI one port UltraSCSI adapter

The quick specs lists cables. I can't comment on software, although I would expect the built-in tape utilities to work.
The journey IS the reward.
