DLT vs 40/80 don't accept tapes from other drives
Hi!
I have two DLT VS 40/80 internal drives that simply won't take used tapes from other drives (DLT 40/80 and 35/70). I can use only new tapes or the existing set of tapes. When I insert one used tape to be erased it tries to read and then it just ejects the tape. Any ideias to solve this. One of the drives was already exchanged.
Thanks for any ideas.

Re: DLT vs 40/80 don't accept tapes from other drives
Alberto,
The VS80 uses a different format than the other DLT drives and therefore will not read tape written by them. You cannot format them to work either. About the only option you have is bulk erase and even that's not a great idea

Thanks !
That was the answer I didn't want to read.
I'm condemned to use brand new tapes.
Thanks again for your reply
