DLT vs80 & DLT1 Compatibility
i can't use tapes in one device that are used for backup in another, ie use a 35/70gb tape in the 718 and try and read it in the vs80.
anybody help ?

Tapes written in a DLT1 or DLT vs80 are not compatible with DLT70 (which is in your 718) or DLT80 drives.

DLT1 writes data in a completely different manner than DLT8000. So you wouldn't read a DLT1-written tape on a DLT8000 drive.
