DLT1 Failed Firmware Update Dead Now!
Is there anyway other then sending a drive in for repair that failed a firmware update?
During the upgrade it locked up the server, rebooted server, server would not bootup with the internal drive pluged in.
Un-pluged the drive sever comes up fine now so I'm assuming the drive is brain dead now?
(drive had been fine before the update)
Surestore DLT1 internal drive, win2k.

Re: DLT1 Failed Firmware Update Dead Now!
Call 800-633-3600, opt 1,2 and follow shortcuts for DLT and storage. You'll need HP customer care. Is your DLT still under warranty?

Re: DLT1 Failed Firmware Update Dead Now!
Thanks very much for your reply Greg.
I called HP this morning, they were very helpful and nice about it but basically they told me I have a paperweight now.
It was out of warranty by a year and they can no longer service these, the firmware is blown and can't be replaced.
Bummer!
If anyone has insight or knows someone that can repair these please let me know as we are a small non-profit org that does not have much IT$ to purchase new equipment.
Thanks

Re: DLT1 Failed Firmware Update Dead Now!
Looks like it will be too expensive to fix so I found a used one on Ebay and hope I can use parts off that one to make mine work.
