DLT4000 problem
Hi,
I have a DLT4000 on a K370, we are using Legato NetWorker for backup strategy.
The Device seems to have got it's self in a loop, it claims to have a tape in use and will not release the handle even thought there is no tape in the DLT.
I have shutdown the Legato, swithed off the DLT, unplugged the DLT form the SCSI but as soon as I switch the DLT back on it still claims to have a tape in use (light on front)
Any Ideas would help, is it a case of replacing the DLT???
P.S. This thread has been moved from Storage>General to Tape Libraries and Drives. -HP Forum Moderator

Re: DLT4000 problem
Thanks for the link; however I am not sure if it is the firmware, the device has been working without problem for over 6 months.
Thx

Re: DLT4000 problem
I have had one o our on-site H/W team look at the DLT4000 and the problem was caused by the tape ripping the leader in the device.
We have replaced the leader in the DLT4000 and this is now functioning correctly.
Thanks for your assistance.
