DLT7000 libary 1/8 (part number A5501A) SCSI PCI card

Hi,

I've got an DLT7000 library currently connected to a HPUX server. We will connect it to a Windows server instead (and a new library to the HPUX server).

What kind of SCSI-PCI card (part number) do I need for a Windows server?

You will need according to the A5501A manual an AHA-2944Ultra PCI card for your windows server

Hi,
We use this Autoloader on some of our Windows servers connected to Adaptec 2940 HBA but this card may be obsolete today. Our system administrator say he got problem when trying to connect the Autoloader to a newer HBA (he don't the model) but was not sure if it was a driver or hardware problem. He don't want to spend to much work on this so he went back to the 2920 HBA.

Will a Dual channel U320 SCSI HBA WW (part number 268351-B21) also do the job?

Hi Kurt, I have tried to look up what that controller is but cannot find any more info than you supplied. Provided the controller supports HVD then there should be no problem because that is what you are going to connect to on the A5501A

Right, this library is HVD type and you did right ordered 2944 HBA. All other type HBAs - SE (2940) and any LVD ones will not work
