DLT8000 Firmware Error
Went to upgrade my DLT8000 from V080 to V089 today and received a message firmware update failed and the LTT software hung. Rebooted server and now my tape drive has the all 4 lights on the right hand side lit up. Is it done for or is there anything I can do?

Re: DLT8000 Firmware Error
Newcomb:
While upgrading the firmware using L&TT, did you make sure that the RSM (Removable Storage Manager) was disabled?
When you say that the LTT software hung, did the operation time out or did the LTT just freeze
Alternatively, kindly call the HP tech support so that you can get a password to overide the firmware, i.e., downgrade to the original version.
Following this, try to run a read/write test from LTT and if possible, do post the results.
Thanks,
Satish

Re: DLT8000 Firmware Error
Thanks for the response Satish, I got the drive replaced under our maintenance contract.
