DLT8000 drive problem
I have an HP Surestore DLT8000 connected to an rp7410 server. It was working perfectly before now.
Right now, the server cannot even see the tape drive when issue the ioscan -fnC tape command. Sometimes when I reboot the server,I may be able to see but unable to do a backup.
Does anyone have a probable solution to this?
If connect another tape drive into the Surestore enclosure, it does not even see it.
Thank you.

Re: DLT8000 drive problem
Has the tape drive been moved?
A lot of the DLT8000 tape drives are High Voltage Differential (HVD) SCSI and most of the SCSI HBA's for the rp7410 are Low Voltage Differential (LVD) SCSI. The two are not compatible - and HVD device on an LVD bus will not work.
If the tape drive has not been moved but the cables have been changed check for damaged pins in the connectors.
