Hi ,
We have a Data Protector Express 3.10-sp4 and we get an error such that:
Error 4075: TapeAlert - Critical - Media
It says in the description of this error that
"HP Ultrium 2-SCSI (Serial Number HU10635LMR) : Your data is at risk: 1. Copy any data you require from this tape. 2. Do not use this tape again. 3. Restart the operation with a different tape."
We choose owerwrite all media.Do u know anything about this problem?
Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim,
The tape drive has reported several read or write errors. When this gets above a certain threshold DP Express assumes the tape is bad.
The first thing I'd do is clean the drive and then try using the tape again. Also, you can download a free copy of HP's Library and Tape Tools from http://hp.com/go/tape and run some of the tests there on both the drive and the tape.
I you need help getting L&TT, running the tests, or intrepreting the reults you can post a query on the Business Support Forum for tape drives.
