I have a new DP V6.0 install with an MSL6060 Tape Library and LTO-3 Ultrium 960 with the same error : "90:59 Cannot open exchanger control device ([2] The system cannot find the file specified." We thought we had installed all of the latest Windows patches and Linux patches. This is a Windows Cell Manager on Windows 2003 R2 SP2. Patches were downloaded as of 17-December-2007. I encountered this error when I tried to do a "Barcode Scan" on the MSL6060 Tape Library. I also get the same error when I try to scan only one tape slot. Firmware is up to date on the library, NSR, and tape drives.

What system is controlling the robotics? When you configure the library controller and pull down the scsi devices list what does it show? Do you see a description of the library wiht the correct number of slots?

Sure looks OK to me.

And you are getting the error from ariana.busco.com for the file scsi3:0:0:0?

The only time I've seen this kind of thing is when the SAN connections changed and windows created a new path to the library [e.g., scsi4:0:0:0] and DP still had the old one configured.

But I looks like ariana can access the library through scsi3:0:0:0 and that is what the backup was using.

I'm thinking I have an NSR e1200-320 mis-configuration issue causing my problem. Do you know if doing a "Reset to Factory Settings" is going to cause more harm than good ? I see the "MSL6000" and the two Tape Drives, but I don't see the e1200-320. I noticed this in L&TT V4.5 that I can't update the e1200-320 firmware via LTT. I had to do the update through the MSL Visual Manager interface via ftp.
