DSS comatibility

is it possible to use dds4 tape whit an dds3 streamer?
We want to buy some dds4 tapes for later using because we want to buy a new dds4 or dds5 streamer but at time we only get an dds3 streamer so we need to use the new tapes whit our old streamer.

NO. DDS4 tapes will not work with DDS3 streamer.

Hello,

You cannot do this. DDS4 tapes are not compatible to DDS3 drives.

However, when you have your new DDS4 drive, that one will be backward-compatible to your old DDS3 tapes.
