Daisy-chaining two DAT drives

We currently have a HP SureStore DAT40x6 autochanger which is our primary backup unit. We also have a legacy SureStore DAT24 which we would like to use in our backup strategy.

I'm Interested to know whether it would be possible to daisy-chain these two drives together, with the DAT40x6 being the 'master' and the DAT24 the 'slave'.

Is this possible? I presume I'll need a SCSI terminator in the DAT24 and another SCSI cable to connect the two drives. Would I need anything else? Specific drivers etc?

I would appreciate any feedback the community may have, or any direction to URLs which detail such a setup.

Regards, Nick

Re: Daisy-chaining two DAT drives

Nick, you can do it however you will limit the performance of your DAT 40x6. The DAT 40 is an LVD device while the DAT 24 is single-ended and you will cut the performance in half. Not a good idea.
