Data Protector 5.5, tape library and tape ejection
Hello,
I have 3 jobs running each night, for each jobs, tapes are loaded, then eject.
Is it possible to have only one load/unload, or even if the tape is fine : no load/unload ?
Regards,
PleKy

Re: Data Protector 5.5, tape library and tape ejection
With Data Protector 5.5, it looks like for each jobs, if you use a tape loader, tapes are load and unload.
IE: I need to backup two exchange servers on the same tape, the tape will be loaded and unloaded for the first exchange server, the reloaded and finally unloaded for the second exchange server.
In fact I have a minimum of 5 jobs each night, and the load/unload process takes a long time, and also drag a lot of dust.
Do you know if we can ask data protector to leave the tape in the drive, and load/unload only when required ?
Thanks for your help,
PleKy

Re: Data Protector 5.5, tape library and tape ejection
Hello,
why don't you use only 1 Job and put in 3 Servers?
All are running as you specify how many should run paralel.
So there will be a unload if the band is full or the job completed.
