Data Protector Error 1040
Error 1040: No devices specified or all devices are now offline
version v3.5 sp2. when trying to erase/format both the virtual library or the tape device.
The data in the devices seems invalid. but impossible to format.
when we start a job, it finishes with this error
Error 1004: Invalid object ID

DPX Error 1040 is caused by a communication problem with the device which you are trying to use.

You need to fix the communication problem with your backup device to prevent the DPX Error 1040.

we are running suse linux ent 9 and the device that is supposed to be failing is the virtual library (hard disk).
anyway , after the lack of ideas , we completly reinstalled the software from 0. now it works again.
