Data Protector Express 3.50 SP 1 or 2 SSE
I have a current issue that everytime the Data Protector service runs the backup on my exchange server which I also have the exchange plugin for DPE my server is locking up and I have to do a hard reset. Nothing shows in DPE logs or in the event viewer of my exchange server as to why this is happening. I have reverted back to DPE 3.50 SP 1 and the issue does not happen as often but still happens. If anyone could provide some input on what to try to resolve this issue I would appricate it.

One thing You could check is if the Removable storage service on the windows services disabled?
*Any other Backup applications Installed on this server?
* Which version of OS do u have?

Re: Data Protector Express 3.50 SP 1 or 2 SSE
Hi Richard:
I would open a support call under the tape storage group for Data Protector Express software support.
The only requirement for the DPX backup of Exchange database is that the Exchange is Online (active) and all the Exchange folders are mounted and have the correct Active Directory Security Permissions to be backed up by the DPX Administrator account.
