Re: Data Protector Express 4 - Won't Initialize
I hate to give up DPE which meets my needs.
I'm going to install a trial of Symantec's backup exec and see how I do, but I would really rather stay with DPE.

Re: Data Protector Express 4 - Won't Initialize
Don't know if it's still running properly but I can view the interface again.
Will test tonight with backups.

Re: Data Protector Express 4 - Won't Initialize
Hi Every one,
Basically the problem is that DPX 3.X is not certified and supported on windows 2008. If you have to use it on windows 2008 SP1 please upgrade the DPX to 4.0 SP1

Re: Data Protector Express 4 - Won't Initialize
Also please be informed that DPX 4.x doesn't support windows 2008 SP2 or R2 as of now.
So your question doesn't confirm if you have SP1 or SP2 running on your Windows 2008.
Regards
Raj
