Data protector express remote admin
Does the copy of data protector express that comes with a tape drive allow you to install it on another computer as well as the server in order to manage it remotely?

Yes. Use the CD and start an install on the machine you want to use to manage from.
1. Select the custom install option
2. Select "Join and Existing Domain" and enter the IP address of the system running SSE.
3. Only check the option to install the management interface on the desktop. (de-select option to load the service)
When it is finished you will have a version of the GUI on the local system that will connect to the system runnning Data Protector Express. When you start the GUI, make sure to select the IP address of the DP Express machine in the drop down list.

Thanks. I think my firewall is blocking the remote computer. What ports do I have to open up for it to work?
