I have a MSL6480 with two expantion (240 slot total)

Have command view version 5.4 and license for the 300 slots

I have a dataverification partition with 1 drive and 5 slots (minimum configuration)

I have three othe r partition.

I have to use dataverification to verify all tha available slot in the library

How I do make the dataverification

By selecting all the slots an applying the policy ?

The dataverification partition (DVP) have to be zoned ?

On page 88 I see

-Unassign the tape drives that will be used for Data Verification from their current partition.

-Unassign the storage slots that will be used for Data Verification from their current partition.

Question

Only free drives and free slots (drive and slots that are not part of other partition) can be in the DVP partition?

If yes

How DVP verify the other slots that are in the other partition to provide an automated process to validate media readability and data integrity of backup data cartridges?

There is a detailed steps how to configure the drives and tapes for the data verification.

Data verification depends on couple of factors like Command view version minimum version is 3.5

And also this is a licensed feature.
