Difference between D6977A and D8602B

Hi
When connected to a FC 4/2 bridge, only the D6977A correctly sees the tape devices on the bridge. The D8602B does not. In both cases, this is with the drivers located at hp web site. What is the difference? I know that the D6977A is a first generation card, but is there a driver fix that would allow me to use the D8602B in this configuration?

Re: Difference between D6977A and D8602B

Chris,
- please check if you have 2.0.25.44 driver running for D8602B (in device manager);
- please read driver's documentation (readme file in driver's package);
- please check in driver's bundle there's a file named hp_mux.reg. If you have NT4 please install it;
- as soon as A3308A supports only arbitrated loop topology ( http://www.hp.com/products1/storage/products/san/scsibridges/fc4_2/overview/index.html , no fabric) please make sure that you've configured D8602 HBA to work in loop topology - use nl_dgto.reg file. Generally, configuration depends on how your HBA and bridge are connected - using hub, switch or direct. Above recommendations are for hub and direct connection configuration. If you use switch it should work w/o configuring HBA in loop because switch will use translative mode for public device
Good luck!
