Direct Connect MSL 2024 FC LTO 4 to Server

Hi All,

I want to ask about connecting MSL 2024 to DL server.

Can i use this card " 81B PCIe 8GB FC - AP769A" in my DL380 G5, and connect it to MSL 2024 FC LTO 4 1840 Tape  ?

can it work if i connect the HBA port to the MSL drive ?

or i must connect the MSL to a san switch in order to do backup? we have limited SAN switch port, so i try to do a direct attached.

We use data protector for the backup , and DL 380 as a master backup.

Need information about this.

Hi, the driver for Brocades HBAs does not support direct connectivity yet.

Apparently driver 3.1.0.0 will support FC-AL or direct-connection.

You need to get a Qlogic or Emulex card.

You can do direct connect, you just need to set the ports to the correct type (not point-to-point or fabric-mode).
