Disappearing/Reappearing C1599 DAT8i on Win 2000
I just added a C1599 8GB DAT drive to a Win 2000 server along with an Adaptec 2940 SCSI controller. My Tape drive is detected just fine on the SCSI section of the boot but it does not show in device manager.
If I tell device manager to scan for new hardware it will find it 50% of the time and then it seems to work fine. It will never show up after a reboot.
I originally had it connected as the only device on the chain at the end of the 50pin SCSI ribbon cable. I then figured it was a termination issue so I added a Seagate ST32151N SCSI Drive at the end of the chain and enabled the onboard termination. Neither drive or tape drive showed after booting in that configuration.
The Seagate HD Drive works fine with that controller in other systems.
Should I invest in an active terminator and plug that into the end of the cable? Think thats gonna solve my issue?
Thanks

Purchased an active terminator and still exact same problem. Don't know what to do.
