Driver problem with Compaq Dat Drive

I recently deployed a Compaq ML-570 server with NT 4.0 Server as the OS. I have a Compaq DAT 12/24 tape drive (SDT-900). The tape drive is being detected at boot-up, and it is shown in the Tape Drive configuration under control panel, but with the driver NOT loaded. When I attempt to load the driver using the CD which came with Drive, it tries to load and a message pops up "device cannot load". Service pack 6a is installed. Tried switching to a different SCSI port on the board, but same problem. I placed the drive in another server and was able to load the driver without any problems.

Please reply with any suggestions.
