EN1200 Fiber Controller on MSL6026

I am trying to connect to ethernet port on this EN1200 Fiber controller but it is not responding to IP of 10.0.0.1 or 1.1.1.1 as indicated by different user guides. I have tried to reset the card using the reset hole?

HI,

Connect the console to your fibre controller card and connect to com port oin windows server.

Check the ip or set the IP would help.

Re: EN1200 Fiber Controller on MSL6026

I am using a x-over cable and plugging directly into the back of the card !!

I need to set the IP and that is the issue, I have no console cable.

Re: EN1200 Fiber Controller on MSL6026

Are you sure you have the subnet mask set correctly on the server/laptop side of your crossover cable? The manual I have says '1.1.1.1/255.255.255.0' whereas Windows would default to '1.1.1.1/255.0.0.0'. So your laptop/server should be '1.1.1.x/255.255.255.0' where 'x' is anything except a '1'.

Thanks but I know networking pretty good. I tried to use a host address of .3 and tried both the 8 bit and 24 bit mask just in case.

Re: EN1200 Fiber Controller on MSL6026

Do you have a 4 Gbps or 2 Gbps E1200 - i.e. E1200-320 or E1200-160? Looking at the manuals it seems they went from 'DHCP disabled' to 'DHCP enabled' as the default setting when they released the 4 Gbps model. Have you tried hooking it up to a network with a DHCP server?

Unfortunately it is the 2GB (160) version, and I suspect its faulty. Waiting for my HP partner to see if they have any in stock.

just hook up the serial cable, enter in the network menu and check what is the IP addres, or set the data you need

Re: EN1200 Fiber Controller on MSL6026

I don't have a serial cable - never had one and there are none on the island apparently - which is the main source of my problem.
