ESL 712e Error

Hi, we did upgrade our ESL with 4 LTO3 drives by adding 1 cluster, after hardware upgrade we tried to upgrade firmware of IM, IC, library(robotics) and drives, during firmware upgrade we successfully upgrade IM and IC to the latest but during library uprade we received time out and library automatically restart, we have checked firmware version of library after reboot it got upgrade to 7.5. then atlast we tried upgrade our drives while upgrading drives we got message (screenshot attached). and then we cannot able to present newly added drives to the host (screenshot attached). plz help to rectify the issue.

Maybe you need to select all the drives.

Are you using the latest command view version?

The only thing I see in the attachment is the normal warning message that is presented when the result of your upgrade will be different revisions of firmware in drives of the same type.

@Torsten, Yes we tried selected by all drives and then songle drive as well.First we upgrade the CV TL to the latest,

@Ballard, according to you we need to proceed with this message by slecting YES??

hi,

if you like update/upgrade firmware on the ESL, there are spcific step how to do it.

Ask the HP they should be able to provide the step by step manual, or its published on the web site, where did you get the Command View TL.

At first if you don't have some Storage HP engienier on site you should have somebody on the phone, because if you procedure is not correct, it could happen that you will not be able to boot the library and for example you will need to replace the flash card ....

Second thing ask the HP to provide temporary service password for your library, because if you need generate SupportTicket .... without this pass you can't.

it looks like this :

Temporary password is '3AGAPEE3FAYEFS'
Password valid 20 days from 03/03/2008
(Remove ('') for password use)

HP fave a special manual ( if course internal
) how to operate the library in service mode.

So for example if we need to update/upgrade or maintain the library we have always some support from HP. ( on site / remote )

If you select a download that will result in different firmware revisions in drives of the same type then you need to select YES on the warning to continue. You should go back and update the rest of your drives so that they all have the same revision.
