How do we identify the total runtime for a particular drive in the ESL 712e.

Do you mean power on hours or do you mean the time it used to pull tape

I wanted to identify the runtime of the ESL drives [how much time the drive has spent performing backups and not the drive power on time].

Well that can be seen in either support ticket (that would required very high level of expertie) or else the best place would be to look at logs of the backup software

Such information (example is a LTO3) you can get from the LTT support ticket:

Power on time : 544 days, 8 hours
Tape Pulled : 550.1 full volume equivalents
