Enable hardware compression on Compaq DLT 35/70 Library (C5173L)?

How do I enable the hardware compression on Compaq DLT 35/70 Library (C5173L)? I am using Veritas BE. There is no setting on the library regarding hardware compression. Software compression didn't seem to work on uncompress file either....
All input are welcome!!!

Whish OS? Try HP LTT http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ltt/index.html to see hardware compression state and look into support ticket for library

Windows 2000 Server. I also have HPLTT install. How there is no where on it to check compression state.
