Error 112 starting dplinsvc

I have upgraded Data Protector Express to v3.50 (running on Ubuntu Linux). An error occured at the end of install process, and the same error is shown when I try to start the service: "Error 112 : Service start error." and there is /usr/local/hp/dpx/v3.50/lin/x86/dplinsdr: *BADGRP* message in syslog.
What does this mean and how can I fix it?
I have successfully tried to rollback the upgrade, but second upgrade attempt finished in the same state. Is this error related to upgrade?

Re: Error 112 starting dplinsvc

Data Protector Express is not supported on Ubuntu Linux. Only on RedHat and SuSE. It may work or you may run into errors as you have.

That said, Error 112 indicates that the service wasn't able to start. The details as to why are in the syslog. It might be insufficent memory or, in this case, a probably insufficient permissions.

Make sure the installation correctly set the ownership and group membership of the files and folders. They should be owned by root and executable by all.
