Error 5093: Data Protector Express 3.50

Recently I have been getting this 5093 error when doing full backup of Windows 2003 server. Error 5093: Snapshot provider service detected an error preventing the snapshot operation. Snapshot creation failed.
Can anyone help with this.

DPX Error 5093 is "Snapshot provider encountered an unexpected error. Please check that there is enough disk space and the required services are running. The error was logged in the system logs (e.g. event log). Also, check the dptrace.txt file for more information."

You need at least enough disk space for the backup job to do the VSS snapshot you are trying to complete. Can you move your DPX installation to another disk volume with more disk space? Your DPX disk volume is needs more space to create the temporary VSS snapshot *.vhd image.

Hello Dave. Thank you for your reply. We have being doing some Archiving on our servers and had plugged in an encrypted USB Disk. This is what was preventing the VSS from reading volume information on any of the disks on the server. Removed the USB drive before backup and VSS ran properly.
