What is the Ethernet port on LTO-5 and LTO-6 drives used for?
I've checked the User Guides for my MSL 2024 library and while it identifies the Ethenet port on the newer drives, it doesn't tell me what it used for or how to set the IP address for it.
Thanks.

SolutionThe Ethernet port on LTO-5 and LTO-6 drives are for management only. They don't have any web console by themselves but they connect to an internal switch and the switch in turn is connected to IM (Interface Manager) available on Enterprise libraries like ESL/EML. Also it is important in reflecting the status of the secure manager.
Hence, from MSL 2024 standpoint it does not play any role.
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Zsal
