Exchange 2007 Mailbox backup fails on mapi dll

We recently migrated from 2000 to 2007, worked for two weeks and now getting this error:

From: OB2BAR_Main@xxxxxx.xxx.xxx "Single Mailbox" Time: 3/19/2009 3:00:20 AM
Cannot initialize global data for MAPI DLL.

(I redacted the server name and domain).

Can't find anything on this, the file mapi32.dll is install on both cluster instances.

open task manager, kill all the running mbx_bar.exe process. , then try backing up.
