FTIO behaviour for hot recovery from tape
Hi all,
When I do a hot recovery from a tape using FTIO, it works for smaller data (~ 3GB and DDS tape) but fails for larger data (~ 14 GB and DLT tape)
OS: HP-UX 11i v1
Would CPIO also give the same problem? Is there a way out? Any help is appreciated.

What is the problem you have? What fails?

Re: FTIO behaviour for hot recovery from tape
The error is that sometimes during the recovery in FTIO mode, some of the control files or data files do not get copied from the tape.
Could it be because of a faulty tape or a faulty installation of the tape drive? 'Coz the recovery doesn't fail in the CPIO Mode!

Re: FTIO behaviour for hot recovery from tape
Have you tried using pax(1) to read your tape:
pax -f tape-device -r
pax -f tape-device -r
