Failed to write Volume Header on Cartride of 160/320GB SDLT Drive

Hi,

We are having following problem when we try to format the Device (media) after some time it show following message:

Device <3> Format Failed!
Failed to write Volume Header.

We have installed 160/320GB SDLT External Drive on HP tc4100 Server with Backup software ARCServe 2000 Workgroup Edition on Windows 2000 Server SP3.

We have checked from HP L&TT then it shows OK.
HP 160/320 GB SDLT firmware ver V075.

Could any one help on this issue?
Thanks
Khairul

Re: Failed to write Volume Header on Cartride of 160/320GB SDLT Drive

I suggest yout to install and run Library and Tape tools (L&TT) and to run some test, it will help in diagnose the problem.

If you are using ARCServe, be sure to disable the RSM (Removable Storage Manager) because it can interfere with BackupSW operations
