Fault Code 200f
For the second time in 2 weeks I've gotten the error msg: Fault Code 200f (Soft) Removal Prevented. This msg is displayed on my MSL 5052 front panel. Should I take any action or blow it off?

Re: Fault Code 200f
That error means that software on the server has locked the drive "Prevent Media Removal" is the SCSI command. After that command has been sent the library can not unload the drive until the host unlocks the drive. The error is only generated when somebody issues a command to the library requesting that the tape be moved out of the drive. Somewhere a move request was refused because the drive was locked.
If your backup software didn't log any errors then maybe it just forgot to unlock the drive and sent the unlock when the move was rejected.
One common cause of this failure is Windows RSM being turned on when it should be disabled. Most backup software other than NT backup needs RSM disabled.
