HBA Drive Parameter settings for tape
I have been scouring the net; working with vendors and calling in favors from associates to help with the following:
Does anyone know what parameter settings need to be changed on an HBA for connectivity to a tape drive rather than a disk? In the past I had a great document that showed, for example: Queue Depth, Queue Target, TVOL, Class, etc. The drives work for the most part, but do drop off-line every once and a while, and I just wanted to make sure that the HBA is tweaked out for the tape world.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: HBA Drive Parameter settings for tape
There is one parameter that can cause this behavior, and depending of your HBA vendor there is different way to set it
reseTPRLO=2 for emulex, and via the gui for Qlogic this setting avoid target reset to be sent to the tape causing the drive to reset and the backup to abort

Re: HBA Drive Parameter settings for tape
Grazie molto! I will be sure to try this during my weekend upgrade to the servers.
