HP 1537A running with W2K adv Server

hi,
we??ve used the 1537a 12/24GB with nt4 (working fine). after upgrading to w2k adv-server no backup is possible. message "there is no unused media available with the selected type".
no hardware-changes are made. current adaptec-driver is used. different drivers for the tapes are tested. no changes: tapes are not recognized. any idea?

W2k use a service called "removable Storage" that manage also the tapes, go in managment console, >> storage >> removable storage, check in the phisical location if an unrecognized tape is present, then format it and inport it in media pool.

thanks meloni,
but the next problem occurs.
the tape is mentioned as "unrecognized" but i can??t perform any "prepare" cause the tape is "write-protected" (both positions of the write-protection-tap).
i try to mount the tape (perfect: state changed) but same message "write protection".

try with a new cartridge, the old one may be protected by software.
A new one let you format it.
Or try to inport the tape , in this case if the format is compatiblem, you will be able to read it.
