HP 35480A Tape Drive
Friend of mine gave me a 35480A Tape drive with a box of tapes. I am wondering what software is available to utilize the drive. I want to backup my harddrive.
Thanks
Joel

Re: HP 35480A Tape Drive
Joel,
if you use hpux machine then you need to install this drive first (at least check if device files are created and tape driver is in the kernel) and then can backup files using tar or fbackup/frestore commands.
If you use windows client then you can use OS builtin NT-backup utility (not available in W95/98).
But first of all you need to configure drive in your OS and check its health with HP LTT http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg50128.html
