We have two identical HP C1537A DDS-3 drives, both of them are not able to store an amount over 12GB on a 125m 4mm DDS-3 tape. We tried with different controllers (Adaptec, NCR) on different Linux-machines (SuSE, 2.4.18), but the result is always the same. The compression test by the LTT software passes successfully (ratio is slightly above 2:1)
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Regards

Re: HP C1537A cannot store >12GB
Indeed, I found out that most of the files are already present in a compressed format (JPEGs, zipped,...), so that could be the reason.
Thanks!
