HP C6280-4000 with DLT4000 upgrades?
We have an 8-slot HP C6280-4000 with a Quantum DLT4000. Is it possible to upgrade the library to an 80GB DLT drive?

Re: HP C6280-4000 with DLT4000 upgrades?
Brian,
here's what you need http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=lpg70242&locale=en_US&taskId=130&prodSeriesId=63825&prodTypeId=12169 . The text is: "Currently, there are no upgrade paths for any HP SureStore DAT/DLT standalone drives or HP SureStore DAT/DLT Autoloaders. You may want to contact your reseller/distributor to see if they have any upgrade/trade-in paths available"

Re: HP C6280-4000 with DLT4000 upgrades?
Hello,
No you cannot, reason being that the DLT4000 is a SE device, whereas the DLT8000 is a FWD device.
You may be able to upgrade it to DLT7000, since they work on the same SE bus, but I am not sure.
Your 418 model is obsolete anyway, if you are upgrading to a DLT7000, that is obsolete as well. So you might as well get a new autoloader, it will be cheaper in the long run.

HTH,
Vince
