What tapes can I use with this drive? I tried brand new Imation Travan-3 Minicartridge TR-3 3.2 GB. First I got an error saying the tape must be erased before it can be used (but it was never used before). Then I got error:
Tape device reported an error on a request to write a file mark to tape.
Error reported:
Unrecognizable data
I've never used this backup drive before and don't know if this is a tape problem, data problem, or what?
The tape says it's preformatted and the Format option under File is grayed out
If I can find out the model # of the drive then Imation can tell me the type of tape to use. Anyone know?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Scott-
This drive can write to both the 5GB and 8GB travan tapes. HP part numbers are C4429 (5GB) and C4425 (8GB). You can use tapes labeled by other manufacturers as well as long as they are 5GB or 8GB Travan tapes.
I think that tape drive can read but not write the TR-3 tape.

If it works, don't fix it!
