HP Compaq SSL2020TL
After a power cut last week ArcServe cannot run its backups on our tape drive (Compaq SSL2020TL).
ArcServe still can determine in which slot a tape is mounted but cannot determine what type of tape is mounted.
When I try to do some actions on the tapes or tape drive via ArcServe always the message "The device is offline" appears.
The tape drive is connected to our server via a SCSI cable.
Does someone have any idea what can be the reason for this?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: HP Compaq SSL2020TL
Filip,
the first step is making sure that library is healthy http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ltt/index.html and the second step is to run 'check inventory' (or something like this, which allows to reassemble backup volumes by reading and checking tapes) in ArcServe.
Backup utility should know where tape installed in (slot) and which volume this tape is piece of. Re-reading and rescanning should update backup utility maps and cure the situation. I think this question is closer to CA software than to hardware issue
