HP DDS DAT72

HI there. hope anyone can help me.

When I run a Backup with the backup from windows 2003 server, at the end of the process got this error: "The device reported an error on a request to write data to media. Error reported: Invalid Command. There may be a hardware or media problem. Please check the system event log for relevant failures"

So, I call to HP support here in mexico, and we ran all kind of tests, so the Hardware seems to be OK

I dont have the budget to acquire a Veritas SW, in the menatime I have to run tests for my boss to approve it.

Question is: does anyone experience the same problem..? or, does anyone knows a free SW for DDS tape backup?

thx

Re: HP DDS DAT72

Please make sure you are at SP 1 for Win 2003.

Is this a SCSI or a USB drive?
Drivers could be the issue.
You might also have a bad tape.

the DDS drive will work with Microsoft Native back up, you have no need to purchase software.
