HP DDS3 Tapes

We recently purchased HP DDS3 tapes for a client (product number HPS-C5708A). The internal tape backup unit is Seagate and we could not get any of the tapes to work. We have other brands of tapes, i.e. TDK, and they work fine. We even tried other lengths of tapes, i.e. 90 meter, and they worked. Any suggestions?

Re: HP DDS3 Tapes

Hi John,

I hate to ask but are the other tapes also DDS3 tapes and are you certain the drive is DDS3? I've not had any trouble with HP tapes.

I'm not familiar with Veritas Backup Exec on NT. Do you have to initialize the tapes?

Sometimes it just helps to ask the obvious.
