HP DLT 40/80 Tape compatibility
I am currently using HP 40/80GB tapes with my DLT8000 40/80GB 32k Drive. With compression, I'm reaching their capacity. I was doing some research, and within Veritas 10.0 device properties, it lists that the SDLT-1 tapes are compatible with the drive, offering a tempting 110/220GB limit. I need to verify this before either ordering tapes or a new drive. Thanks in advance

Re: HP DLT 40/80 Tape compatibility
Hi Douglas,
You can not use SDLT tapes, the tape drives have different leaders.
You can use your tapes with VS80 drive if you wish.

Re: HP DLT 40/80 Tape compatibility
Thanks! Just wanted to double-check! I didn't think they would be forward compatible, but from the info in Veritas, thought I'd check!
