HP Data Protector Express Basic 5.0.00.59287 Error

Hi all.

Good day!

Question: I have HP Data Protector Express Basic 5.0.00 with HP StorageWorks LTO-4 ULTRIUM 1760 SCSI EXT Tape Drive. When i'm try to backup my data i get the following error with some files: error 3266 - the filename is too long and will not be protected. Data Protector ignores these files but after a while the tape is ejected. Of course, backup is not done.

Any ideas?

Best regards,
Vladimir.

hi Vladimir,

the limitation of the file name length is from the OS. reduce the file name length for the backups to happen

Hi, Raj!

Thanks for your advice. Does HP Data Protector have the option to skip files with long filename?

Hi Vladimir,

Data Protector Express doesn't have any option for that. Bur since the API it uses is from the OS and so when the OS is not able to read the long file name, the application will not be able to read.

Re: HP Data Protector Express Basic 5.0.00.59287 Error

Hi, Raj!

I reduced the filename and errors were gone. But I have some trouble. At the begining the backup stopped at 5-10%. In log file errors with some files: error 4049 invalid status.

Hi,

I read this article, but disabling the service "HP Insight Storage Agents" does not work.
