HP Data Protector Express is unable to find usable media. Erro Message

Hi Every One,

We are getting the below mentioned error on HP Data Protector Express: "Data Protector Express is unable to find usable media. Please insert media into the loader or stand alone device which is compatible with the job options. If this is a restore or verify job, make sure that the versions you selected reside on the media available to the device or autoloader"

In Objects Section following is mentioned "HP Ultrium 5-SCSI (Serial Number HU1216N3BA)"
Kindly help us to troubleshoot this issue.

HP Tape Library Model is: MSL 8096

HP Tape Library Product # is: BL539A

Tape Drive installed in MSL 8096 is: two LTO-5 Ultrium 3000 SAS drives

The Library is attached with a Server installed in HP C7000 Blade Chasis through SAS module installed in Balade Chassis.

The Host Operating System is Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2

Troubleshoting Steps Taken are:

We have deleted all of the Jobs and Media. Creat a new Job. Uninstall the Data Protector Express Then Re-Install the DP Express Again Created a New Job But the same Results We also have installed the newly available backup software Yosemite Server Backup Administrator Created backup jobs on Yosemite Backup Software but the same error.

I've had this msg before.

When occurs incidentally, then tape may be bad.

When occurs all the time, then tape drive probably bad.

My problem disappeared after replacing drive (under warranty)

Sure the software can handle the library?


The software complains about no tape in drive - is the software able to load a tape into the drive?
