HP LTO-2 Tape full or not

Is there any way to get the informaiton about tape whether it is full or not ?

Or How to know i need to change the tape.

your backup software should show you

I am not using any backup software.

Backup is taken by the script on HP-Unix 11iv3 machine.

And the script uses what?  dd(1) or tar(1)?

Script uses Tar.
